We’re already taken a peek inside The Body Shop’s advent calendars for 2020, and now the full Body Shop Christmas range has been released.
I’ve spent this week nose deep in it, pretending that Chrismas is already here and 2020 was just a dream I had while Bobby Ewing was in the shower.
The Body Shop Christmas range is a mix of scents and products you’ll only see at this time of year, plus established favourites packaged and presented ready for gifting. I especially liked the fact that the gift packaging seems to be all recyclable paper and cardboard and not the usual overflow of extra plastic that often comes with gift sets.
Wake up and smell the warm vanilla
Number one favourite in this house is the Warm Vanilla range. Honestly, you won’t know whether to bathe in it or drink it. It smells like warm toffee by the fireside; sweet but not too sweet. A shower with this is like a warm hug on a cold winter morning.
I also very much enjoyed the Festive Berry range. The Festive Berry Body Scrub (250ml, RRP £16) has a satisfyingly jammy consistency, but not to the point that it won’t wash off. Very useful now that central heating is coming on and, if you’re anything like me, your skin is getting drier and in need of a little extra exfoliation.
Yoghurt but not as you know it
My least favourite scent was probably the Winter Jasmine, because I’m not a big jasmine fan. What do you think, do you like the winter florals? I did enjoy the notes of pine under the jasmine scent, and the light gel/cream texture of the Winter Jasmine Body Yoghurt (200 ml, RRP £9). If body butters are too rich for you then this is a good alternative and pairs well with the body scrub.
And if you want to try out all these scents, may I point you towards this set of Christmassy hand creams (RRP £15) which contains all three. I can see hand creams doing well this Christmas because of all the hand washing we’ve been doing in 2020.
Note the pretty gift design and folded recyclable paper packaging.
And if Chrismas scents are not your thing, you can always go for classic mixes such as this set of Mango, Almond Milk & Honey and Moringa body butters (RRP £15).
All in all, I think there’s plenty worth considering if like me you tend to do a Body Shop order at this time of year. These are all practical gifts without being boring, and feel a bit more treaty and luxury than your average fare. Not to mention that everything is suitable for vegetarians and a substantial amount is also vegan.
