News just in from one of my favourite UK vegan skincare brands: ARK Skincare have launched a set of specially formulated night treatments.
Age Defend is ARK’s night serum for people in their 30s and 40s. I’ve been trying out its big sister, Age Defy, which is suitable for 50s and beyond.
Star ingredients include:
- Hyaluronic Acid
- Blackcurrant Seed Oil (rich in Vitamin C)
- Borage Oil (rich in GLA)
- Abyssinian Oil
- Vitamin E
- Goji
The aim here is to help the skin regenerate with overnight nourishment from these bioactive ingredients. Use by itself or on top of a serum. I’ve been pairing it with ARK’s Firming Serum and it works a treat.
It’s a lovely light, silky cream that’s unperfumed, making it suitable for sensitive or damaged skin. It’s light enough for use around the eye area, so no need for an extra eye cream.
I find that so many night treatments, especially those aimed at older skin, can be quite heavy and oily. And sometimes that’s what you want, especially in the winter. But now that spring is on its way and hopefully we can turn off the central heating, me and my skin are in the mood for something lighter. This is where I think Age Defy comes into its own, as a spring/summer skin treatment, hydrating and repairing skin overnight without clogging it up.
