Korean beauty products are much more available in the UK than they were even three or four years ago. But personally, I still tend to buy direct from Korea. The selection is wider and the prices are cheaper.
One of the most well known Korean beauty sites, Wishtrend, has recently had a revamp and relaunched their site. And happy days, they sent me a selection of their top products to mark the occasion.
The main reason why you might turn to Wishtrend rather than other retailers is because they have several inhouse and niche brands that are difficult, if not impossible, to find elsewhere. Wishtrend products definitely edge towards the sciency, for skincare consumers who know what sort of ingredients they’re after.
Wishtrend Special Offers
Wishtrend are big on special offers, so watch out for new ones every week. If you use my affiliate code E39E7C2C you’ll get 10% off your first order (and I get $5). This code is limited to 20 people so if it doesn’t work that’ll be why.
There is a Black Friday Early Bird Sale currently running from 11th to 24th November. Discounts range from 15% to 40%. Shipping is free for orders over $60.
As part of the relaunch, there’s a new points system – earn points when you purchase and by leaving reviews, then use the points as credit against future purchases.
By the way, if you’re a previous Wishtrend customer, you’ll have to reset your password, as the old one won’t work.
Here are the Wishtrend products I’ve been trying out:
Sheet masks
Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Tencel Sheet Mask
This juicy sheet mask is made of gauze with five types of ceramides as well as Aloe Vera, Panthenol and Hyaluronic Acid to revitalize dry and fried skin. Use this the night before if you want to have plumped up skin the next day.
Suitable for vegans. $3 per mask, currently reduced to $2.55 (£2)
I know what you’re thinking, what even is mugwort? Sounds a bit swampy, right? It’s an ancient herb used all around the world in cooking and healing. This mask contains highly concentrated mugwort essence, and is a good pick if you’re dealing with spots or blemishes.
Suitable for vegans. $4 per mask, currently reduced to $3.20 (£2.50)
By Wishtrend Natural Vitamin 21.5% Enhancing Sheet Mask
This is the kind of mask you want if you’ve had a rough night, have been ill or your skin is just feeling the effects of too much too much. It’s loaded with essence and very moisturising and plumping for the skin. It’s enriched with 21.5% natural vitamin complex (Vitamin Tree Water & Boseong Green Tea Water) and is particularly good for sensitive skin.
Suitable for vegans. $3 per mask, currently reduced to $2.55 (£2).
I’m From Rice Toner
A Korean toner is very different to other types of toners you might have used. It’s designed to be moisturising and this toner, made with 77.78% Rice Extract really delivers. Great for tired and dry skin. Try patting it directly on to the skin with your hand.
150ml, RRP $28, currently reduced to $22.40 (£17)
By Wishtrend Pure Vitamin C 21.5% Advanced Serum
This affordable Vitamin C serum is one of Wishtrend’s best sellers. Its watery texture makes it a good pick for oily skin. It’s made with 70% Vitamin Tree Water and 21.5% Pure Vitamin C. Use it at night (six drops is plenty) to remove dead skin cells, even out the skin tone and brighten the complexion.
Suitable for vegans. 30ml. RRP $30, currently reduced to $25.50 (£20)
Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop
Another best seller. This is a highly potent anti-ageing serum, great for mature, sensitive skin. Contains blueberry extract, so yes, it really is blue. This night serum reduces fine lines and wrinkles using a dual peptide formula. Just a couple of drops is all you need. It’s very lightweight and can be layered with other products. I use it after toner. Reminds me of Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair, but lighter in texture (and half the price).
Suitable for vegans. 20ml. RRP $30, currently reduced to $25.50 (£20)
