I’m aware that there’s a certain irony in following up a post about decluttering with one about me buying stuff, but I think of skincare as being like food for your face, therefore it’s a staple. I do use all this stuff up, and I haven’t quite got to the stage where I need to grow an extra head to get through it all.
Anyway, brace yourselves, beauty box fans because this one is unforgettable.
I think that the plan with Memebox My Cute Wishlist 3 was probably that you would open it up and see a bunch of cute little dolly faces.
Alas, something got lost in translation and what we’ve ended up with is a mass of blank staring eyes and frankly quite disturbing and strange plastic figures.
These are faces only a mother could love, and even then she’d be locking the bedroom door at night for fear of getting murdered in her sleep.
So for sake of my own safety, this is going to be my last Cute-themed Korean box.
Cute Wishlist 3 retailed for $23 plus shipping and contains six full-sized products with a combined value of $101
- Hope Girl Tinted Lip Balm ($12)
The most boring product in the box, which I know because I already have one. It hasn’t even got a creepy doll on it. Come on Memebox, make an effort. - Shara Shara Fairy’s Make-Up Synergy Sun Cream (30 ml $21)
This was a well-timed arrival because I am off on holiday soon and did need some sunscreen. Alas, Dolly Sunscreen has got a slightly disturbing vibe about her, and only 30ml of product hidden in her purple plastic skirts. - ddung Family Foam Cleansing Cream (120 ml $12)
Ddung dolls are well-known in Korea, but are definitely something of an acquired taste. Those giant staring eyes could suck out your soul if you’re not careful. As a cleanser this is pretty good and not too drying on the skin. Just don’t stare at it for too long, and blink a lot. - Shara Shara Kissing Sugar Lip Scrub ($7)
Once you get beyond the disembodied head with the squinty eye on the tin, this is a pretty nice lip scrub containing walnut and sugar to exfoliate. - Youngwoosa Oh! It’s Lovely and Soft Cream (45g $47)
Living up to the name, this cream does indeed have a soft and lovely texture and is the star product of the box. I like the retro packaging too, with the slightly demented looking girl throwing karate shapes. - TonyMoly Red Cheeks Girl’s Patch ($2)
This is pretty timely for anyone who’s experiencing the Autumn chill around their chops. But why only one? And is the red pointy had compulsory when using?
What do you think of Memebox My Cute Wishlist 3 – creepy or cute? Or possibly both?
I bought this box with my own money.
