I am incredibly chuffed to have made the shortlist for the Brilliance in Blogging awards, in the writer category. Apparently there were tens of thousands of nominations and these have been whittled down to a final 16 in each category.
I didn’t ask for any nominations so the fact that somebody somewhere put my name forward is an immense pat on the back just when I needed it. I don’t publish a large amount of posts, maybe only one a week, but when I do I aim to make them a decent read. So thank you, whoever you are, for recognising that.
When you write in your house, by yourself, with no feedback until you hit the publish button and don’t know if a post will wither or fly, a little external recognition goes a long way.
The next stage of the awards is the voting. This will reduce each category to 5 finalists and then one eventual winner.
Despite what the badge below says, I don’t know if I would vote for me, in my category. There are a lot of amazing bloggers in there and it’s just good to be in their company. So even if you don’t want to vote for me, do vote for somebody and know that you made their day.
