Greetings! I’m just back from a trip to Ireland where, amongst other adventures, I explored the Wild Atlantic Way. This is the coastal road that runs around 2,500km along the west coast of Ireland, taking in spectacular scenery and magical landscapes.

As roadtrips go it’s pretty easy driving. The roads were not busy at all, and everywhere we stopped was practically deserted. Maybe it’s different in high season (this was mid-September) but I loved the peaceful rural atmosphere.

The Wild Atlantic Way weather is very changeable so you have to come prepared. Every day (even every moment) would flip from rain to sun to wind, though it wasn’t particularly cold. At any rate, good timing for my latest adidas collaboration.
There’s more to adidas that trainers you know. They’ve got everything from golf shoes to sunglasses. So I picked out a short padded jacket to get me through my winter travels.

This, to give it its full title, is the Terrex Xperior PrimaLoft Loose Fill Insulated Hooded Jacket. It’s a lightweight insulated hooded jacket with water-repellant outer material designed to retain warmth even in wet conditions. It’s made with a minimum of 70% recycled materials, and comes in 5 different colour options, though of course I went for classic black.

And I was never cold or wet, even when a storm whipped up. It zips right up to cover the chin – essential in windy weather. What I also like about this piece is that the stitching pattern is way more interesting than your usual padded jacket.

Pocketses!
One less obvious benefit of this jacket are the massive pockets. There’s even an inner mesh pocket for you to store trinkets and snacks. So I never bothered carrying a bag, which made picking my way across the rocks and seashore much easier.

Thumbs up for this one! I hope we have many more adventures together.
Have you ever visited the Wild Atlantic Way? Would you like to? Let me know
