One of the biggest complaints I’ve heard about beauty advent calendars is that they’re a lot to splash out on yourself right before Christmas. So you’ll be glad to hear that Aldi have jumped into the fray with the Aldi Beauty Advent Calendar. It’s one of the most pocket-friendly calendars of the season. Go on, Treat.Yo.Self.

Aldi are being pretty tight lipped with information on this one and haven’t released a photo of what’s inside. I’ve asked for more details because I know lots of you like to know what to expect from a beauty advent calendar. Will update this post when I know more.

As you can see above, the calendar is designed in a beautiful gold and white theme which looks like it would make a lovely gift.

Aldi Cuvée Royal, to give it its proper title features 24 beauty products from the brand new Cuvee Royal skin care range. Twenty two of these are exclusive samples aiming to lift, moisturise and refine skin ahead of the Christmas period. What do the other two do? Your guess is as good as mine.

Aldi’s skincare range has been widely lauded over the last year. In product tests it has repeatedly performed well against much pricier brands, so this is an excellent way to explore the range.

Aldi Beauty Advent Calendar launches on the 9th of October 2016 and will be available online and in store. RRP is just £19.99, but you’re limited to two per customer. I don’t think there’ll be a huge markup in terms of value, since these aren’t very expensive products to begin with. The value here is in building a nice collection of samples to try out.

And if that has whetted your appetite, don’t forget to check out what’s inside the Marks and Spencer Beauty Advent calendar and the L’Occitane Advent calendar – both amazing.

UPDATE – 10th October 2016

The Aldi Cuvee Royal advent calendar is now on sale and has already sold out online. So if you want one, you’re going to have to go instore. Now that it’s in the shops, Aldi are happy for me to tell you the contents in detail. They are:

  • Cuvee Royal Twin Phase Vita Serum (2x1ml)
  • Cuvee Royal Oxy Serum (4x2ml)
  • Cuvee Royal Refine Serum (4x2ml)
  • Cuvee Royal Moisture Serum (4 x 2ml)
  • Cuvee Royal Power Serum (4x 2ml)
  • Cuvee Royal Lift Serum (4 x 2ml)
  • Cuvee Royal Skin Care with QT40 Luminous Serum Concentrate (1 x 7.5ml)
  • Cuvee Royal Skin Care with QT40 24HR Cream Mousse (1 x 7.5ml)

So it’s all about the serums! Aldi say that: Used together the products have been independently proven by scientific studies to:

  • Help increase skin hydration by 37%
  • Improve skin firmness by 14%
  • And assist skin elasticity by 9%
  • After 28 days of use.

Most of the products in the calendar are exclusive to the advent calendar, apart from the 24HR Cream Mousse and Luminous Serum Concentrate, which both retail at £7.99.

What do you think of this? Will you be buying a beauty advent calendar this year?
