#Juneathon day 30 – The finish line!

~channelling Lionel Ritchie~

And now that we’ve come

To the end of our Juneathon

There’s something I must say out loud…

You’re once

Twice

Three times a winner

And I looo-oooo-oove you-oooou

Sorry, I’ve come over all emotional. Must be the heat.

It’s finished!

The exercise and blogging challenge I’ve been boring you with is finally D.O.N.E DONE

Today for the final exercise of June I went to a BodyPump class at the gym for a music and weightlifting extravaganza. Did you know that it’s easier to lift weights if you’ve painted your nails.?

Well it is.

There are probably a lot of outstanding athletes and ultrafit people who do Juneathon.

As an over 45, medium sized, mother of two nerdy type who was always picked last at PE, I suspect there are less of us on the team. But the good thing about this team is, anyone can join.

Here are my FitBit stats to show I did at least 12,000 steps every day in June. Turns out that adds up to quite a lot.

I did 15 gym classes this month – mostly BodyCombat, a little BodyPump and a solitary Zumba class of which we shall speak no more. There were 15 days of home workouts consisting of 200 abs exercises, 1 minute full plank and two 30 second side planks. That adds up to 3,000 abs crunches in all. Crikey.

In the second half of the month I added in as many press ups as I could manage, which ended up being a total of 25.

But my best bit of exercise all month was a lovely run with my teenage daughter, her first ever run that wasn’t for the bus. Alas she became ill straight after that so we haven’t managed to repeat the experience, but if it hasn’t put her off then I hope it’ll happen again one day.

Across the month I have lost about 5 lbs and can see some abs in the area I keep my wine. I’m not going to show you my abs though. I don’t do *those* sort of selfies. If that’s what you’re after, I suggest the #fitness hashtag on Instagram, though brace yourself first.

Instead here is a picture of me looking slightly foxy.
