Don’t tell Willy Wonka – Memebox Chocolate Mania beauty box review

Right now the air in my office is thick with the scent of chocolate, and not just because I’ve been mainlining Toblerones again.

Yes I did go slightly hogwild on the Memebox December restocks, but this one was too good to pass up. Memebox Chocolate Mania is a Korean beauty box containing 8 full size items worth $90. It was on sale for $23 plus shipping.

Look at all that cool cocoa stuff! It’s not the highest value box ever, but then it does contain products from well known Korean brands such as Skinfood and Missha.

  1. Zamian Super Gold Cacao Pack (150g, $22)
It’s got gold and chocolate, smells like a bar of Dairy Milk and you spread it on your face. What’s not to like?
  2. Shara Shara Tempting Avocado Chocolate Massage Cream (100ml, $11)
A facial massage cream containing cacao, avocado and banana. Are we supposed to be massaging our faces now? Is that a thing? It’ll get me a few strange looks in the pub but I’ll try anything once (apart from hard drugs and murder).
  3. Neogen Code9 Gold Cacao Cream (50ml, $30)
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Neogen, but never had a chance to try it out before. This hardcore winter moisturiser contains gold, cacao, shea butter, olive oil and mango seed butter. It’s clearly old stock, since the manufacturing date printed on the bottom is 2013 so it gets bumped straight to the front of the skincare queue.
  4. Missha Cacao & Cream Facial Scrub (95g, $12)
Sometimes I make Oreo ice cream, and it looks and smells exactly like this. So if this does nothing for my face, I can serve it up as dessert.
  5. Skinfood Cacao Hand Balm (50g, $5)
Doesn’t smell as chocolatey as it looks, it smells more like the Body Shop lip butters. I love the pretty and retro tub.
  6. dearberry Miss Mona Lisa Eyebrow pencil in Choco Brownie ($2)
Eyebrows! I used to be barely aware that my eyebrows existed, now they have their own sub-section of my make up bag. This has a pointy coloured bit for filling in the eyebrow blanks and a spoolie brush for taming the beasts.
  7. Binucook Cacao Choco Pie Soap (70g, $6)
This cowpat lookalike is what’s responsible for the heavenly smell wafting up from the box. The handmade chocolate soap is a new contender in my Get The Children To Wash campaign.
  8. Purederm Choco Cacao Collagen Mask ($2)
I think there was a similar mask in the first Memebox Chocolate box and it really didn’t do a lot, but Purederm are a pretty good budget brand so maybe this will be better.memebox chocolate mania contents

Everyone should have a chocolate beauty box, why is that not the law? I love that this box is packed with a variety of interesting cocoa-stuff. I hope Memebox do more boxes like this.
