Marks and Spencer Beauty Advent Calendar 2016 contents revealed

First up – SPOILER ALERT – in this post I’m going to show you the complete list of exactly what is in the Marks and Spencer Beauty Advent Calendar 2016. So if you don’t wan’t to know, look away now.

OK, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

The M&S beauty advent calendar was a real festive highlight for me in 2015. I really loved opening up each day’s treat throughout December. It was a fantastic introduction to so many brands and products I’d never tried before, and the samples have kept me going throughout 2016.

It’s a tough act to follow, so how have they done?

A few things you need to know about the Marks and Spencer beauty advent calendar 2016

  • It’s fantastic
Once again this is an excellently-curated collection of classics and new beauty products to try. I think you’re going to love it.
  • It’s a fair chunk of change more expensive than last year
Last year, you had to spend £25 in Marks and Spencer to be able to buy the beauty advent calendar for £25. This year, the in store spend is £35 (from beauty, clothing and home but not furniture), and the calendar itself is £35, with contents valued at over £250. So you’re looking at spending £70 in total. I think the smart way to approach that is to think about whatever you need from M&S and hang fire until the 10th of November when the calendar is released. Last year, offers such as 3 for 2 could be combined with the advent calendar offer, so you can squeeze maximum value out of it. Plus I heard that some people sold the bits of the calendar they didn’t want on eBay and were able to make most of the purchase price back. Not me though. I kept it all for me me ME.
  • It comes out on 10th November 2016
Last year’s Marks & Spencer Beauty Advent Calendar sold out in around 12 hours online. If you want to be assured of getting one then the smart thing to do is order as early as possible on the 10th November. They will also be available in store – last year there seemed to be far more in store than online, and they were around for at least a couple of weeks. I remember thinking at the time that this was probably a ploy to get people into the excellent M&S beauty department, which is a real treasure trove these days. Possibly I was overthinking, and they just under estimated the online demand. Whatever the case, it WILL sell out, so don’t hang about if you want one.

Ready? Here we go. I’ll show you a picture of everything and then list the contents individually

Wow how have I never heard of this before. Looks like a great buy.

    • The world of beauty advent calendars is an exciting and fun-packed journey, brace yourself.

  • I would find it hard justifying that amount of money on an Advent calendar for myself but I can imagine it will be really popular with those who love their beauty products.

    • To me that is the real joy of something like this. As mums we put so much effort into making a great Christmas for everyone else, but it often isn’t reciprocated. If anyone deserves a treat then we do.

  • I love the beauty Christmas advent calendars that have been coming out the past few years and this one looks right up my street – I really want to try the Alpha H liquid gold! x

    • Yes I want to try that too, and this seems a good way to do it – plus a load of other great stuff

  • Faye Reed

I’m so excited for this last year I checked the website every day, 5 times a day for it and I loved it. It’s definatly one of the best ones, especially for the price. I sold a couple of the things I knew I’d never use on ebay too and made some of the money back.

    • oh me too Faye, it really lifted my December opening it up every day. Hope you get one this year!

  • A great alternative to chocolate and a lovely treat for any woman with some great products to open on a daily basis. This is definitely something I would consider buying and the idea of selling unwanted items on ebay is brilliant. Thanks! #sharingthebloglove

    • Plus you could use the eBay profits to buy more chocolate

  • Samantha Free

Oh this is dreamy! I have heard of lots of different advent calendars (whisky, beer, playmobil etc) but this is definitely more my style! #sharingthebloglove

    • I like the sound of the gin advent calendar. That would definitely keep me happy throughout December.

  • Winnettes

This looks brilliant! I don’t care if I know what’s in it, I want one!
    #SharingtheBlogLove

  • Oh, I love these M&S gift boxes and advent calenders! I’m still using up the products from my mother’s day gift box (the Alpha A stuff is amazing!). I love the Rosie by Autograph range too, I’m definitely going to be trying to get my hands on this one! Thanks so much for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove

    • I missed the Mother’s Day one and I’m still kicking myself for that, it looked fantastic.

  • We’ve decided that we are going to get more exciting advent calendars this year for each other rather than loads of gifts on the day. This looks awesome, so I think I may have to get this alongside buying some gifts for others too! #sharingthebloglove

    • That sounds so awesome Kayleigh, you’ll have a fabulous December for sure

  • Laura @dearbearandbeany

I haven;t seen this before and I am not sure why, as this is right up my street! I love this idea and I think i totally deserve an advent calendar this year. i will be on the look out for this in November. Thank you for joining us at #SharingtheBlogLove x

    • You do deserve it Laura. Why should mums get all the grunt work of Christmas and none of the funsies?

  • This looks great I don’t know how I missed it last year! Great value must start thinking about what christmas presents I need to buy to get to £35! Hubby brought me the Selfridges one last year but this sounds better! #sharingthebloglove

    • Yes I think if you plan to get it with something that you were going to buy anyway, then it’s an even better deal. Hope you manage to get one!

  • Cristina

Do you know if this will be available online for US too?

    • I suspect not Cristina, but I would check with M&S customer services or on Twitter for the official word

  • Charlie

Did you manage to get one? It seems like they are already sold out online! So frustrating!

    • Yes I just ordered one. It sounds like they have been bouncing in and out of stock all night so keep checking back and hopefully it will appear.

  • Sandra Richards

Absolutely thrilled with mine an early Christmas present from my son. But the naughty elves in the packing department must have had too much sherry. I did not have a number 22 (searched for about 10 minutes as thought I was going mad). Guess what – I have 2 of number 15. I have contacted head office with a suitable email about the naughty elves and have received a reply but more information is needed. Happy Christmas everyone.

    • What a lovely present, top marks to your son. You’ve obviously brought him up well!

  • Sandra Richards

Don’t know who the picture is but it’s definitely not me. Apologies to whoever it is!!!
