New beauty box alert – Precious Petals with BritishBeautyBlogger

Precious Petals Beauty Box contents

I’m a big fan of the Latest in Beauty boxes curated by Jane at British Beauty Blogger and have bought most of them in the past. So although this one, Precious Petals, was sent to me as a sample for review, it’s exactly the sort of thing I would buy myself and recommend to friends.

What’s in #PreciousPetals?

The latest BBB box is currently on limited stock so here’s a closer look at what’s inside. There are seven products in the box, a mixture of sample and full sizes. Three different brands are represented, all falling under the umbrella of the L’Occitane group. As the theme is petals, expect flowers, nature and freshness in the scents and ingredients.

  • L’Occitane Divine Cream (8ml sample worth £14)
This rich anti-ageing moisturiser is quite expensive, usually £74 for the full size, so the box version is a great chance to try it out.
  • L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil (75ml generous sample size worth £7)
I’ve used this before and it’s my favourite product in the box. It smells just delicious and feels very luxurious to use. You only need a tiny bit at a time so I would expect this decent-sized sample to last a few weeks.
  • L’Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream (30ml travel size worth £8)
L’Occitane are the experts in hand cream, and I’m sure you’ll know this classic with its pretty cherry blossom scent.
  • Erborian CC cream (15ml full size worth £17)
Erborian is a Korean and French brand, so with this colour correcting cream you’re getting the best of international skincare. It gives a light coverage with an SPF of 25. Don’t be alarmed that it comes out of the tube grey, then goes beige before it settles down. This is normal for CC creams as they adjust to suit the skin. This will work for most paler skin tones, though probably not for darker skin.
  • Erborian Dongbaek Camellia Essence (3ml sample worth £5.40)
This is a rich facial serum with a light, oily texture and faint floral scent. The Dongbaek tree is a type of camellia, also known as the Rose of Winter, so it’s quite an evocative scent.
  • Melvita L’Or Bio Oil (17ml sample size worth £4.25)
A dry oil for face, body and hair, presented in a little spray bottle which is great for travel.
  • Melvita Rose Floral Water (28ml sample size worth £2.10)
A deliciously refreshing rose-scented spray, for giving skin a pick-me-up throughout the day. I have donated it to The Teen who is in the midst of GCSEs. I can’t take away the stress but I can make it smell better.

British Beauty Blogger Latest in Beauty #PreciousPetals box

The box also contains £10 vouchers from each of the brands in case you like the samples so much you want to invest in a full size version.

So the total value of the Precious Petals box is £57.75, making the price of the box at £20 including delivery excellent value. As you can see, it’s beautifully presented, with pink and flowers on the outside and white tissue and pink petals on the inside. Buy it as a gift, or (as I normally do) buy it for yourself and have your teenager pilfer it.

Precious Petals box product details

Precious Petals by British Beauty Blogger is currently on limited availability at Latest in Beauty. There are only ever a small number of these boxes and once they’ve gone, they’ve gone, so if you like the look of this one I wouldn’t hang around too long. RRP £20 including postage.

UPDATE – There are a few of these boxes left, and if you use code PETALS5 at the checkout you will get a fiver off, bringing the cost down to only £15. Offer runs until 30th June 2016, or until stocks run out.

UPDATE – I’ve removed the link because the box is now sold out.

  • woah this box is full of amazing goodies! Love it 🙂

    • Thank you Kristina. Some beauty boxes are a bit hit and miss but at least with these you can see what you’re getting in advance and know that it’s a good one.

  • Kelly

This looks great – how lucky were you to get all that stuff. I love Melvita stuff so much and was so sad when their Covent Garden store closed down. I also like L’Occitane. Haven’t tried Erborian but think I’ve seen it in SpaceNK.

    • You know, Melvita is the one brand I don’t really know out of this bunch so I’m looking forward to trying it out. I haven’t tried Erborian either, but I am a big fan of Korean skincare in general so I trust it to be good. Thanks so much for commenting Kelly.

This box looks fab, what lovely products and great value for money. The floral theme is so pretty, too.

    • It is isn’t it? Mind you, I’ll never see it again, it’s gone to live in the teenager’s bedroom.

  • Looks like a lovely box. Several brands in there I haven’t tried before, and it’s great value. Vx

    • Yes I think this is one of the best ones they’ve done. Used the Divine Cream last night and it’s REALLY nice, not too rich and has a lovely floral scent.

  • Looks like a lovely box, I love the brand Melvita xx

    • I feel really out of the loop now because I don’t know Melvita at all. I thought it was a brand of biscuit!

  • That looks like a really great value box. I have kind of fallen out of love with beauty boxes, but this one seems to offer a bit more!

    • Well the good thing about Latest in Beauty boxes is that you can see exactly what you’re going to get and decide if it’s for you. The ones where the contents are a mystery don’t seem to be so good these days.

  • It sounds fab, especially the vouchers to buy the full size if you are happy with the samples. When it comes to expensive items, I’m looking for samples too, just to see if I’m happy with it.

    • I know, I prefer sample sizes too. You can use them up quicker and they are useful for travelling.

  • This looks fab, I subscribe to Birchbox and Glossybox but this looks on another level! #LIML

    • To be honest I would not trust a mystery box now, so few of them seem to consistently delight people. This is good because you know exactly what you’re getting.

  • The precious petals box looks beautiful – great products as well ♡

  • What a bargain ! I love the look of the Almond body oil, I do usually like the element of surprise with subscription boxes but am too often left disappointed so this is a really good idea.

    • That almond oil is really lovely. I’ve used it before and have been using the one in the box for the last week or so. You only need a small amount at a time so although the full size is pricey, it lasts for ages.

  • It certainly looks like a bargain, there’s some great products in there!
