Free activities for kids: grafitti The Guardian

Previously we looked at free activities to fob the kids off with, but it’s hard to play Hunt the Pixie in winter, so here’s an indoor activity to try with your children – it’s called grafitti The Guardian.

We did this yesterday and the sports section turned out particularly well:grafitti the guardian

Admittedly I did pay £2.10 for the paper, so it’s not a total freebie but I read it as well, and it kept the juniors quiet for ages. So as budget activities go it’s a winner. grafitti the guardian sports

Other newspapers may also be used for this activity. Magazines can work well too:grafitti the guardian weekend magazine

  • Thank you Charlie, I am hoping they will get jobs as subs in the future

  • I like it – good writing practise as well as drawing and those captioning skills will come in handy when they are guests on Have I Got News For You.

I’m 32 and don’t have kids but fancy a go at this!

  • There’s no age restriction Lucy, so go for it. Makes reading the paper a lot more interesting.
